Matthew Allen, PhD
NSF Postdoctoral Fellow | Low-Temperature Geochemistry | Terrestrial Paleoclimate

WELCOME
I am a low-temperature geochemist and paleoecologist specializing in the use of stable isotope geochemistry to investigate Earth’s climate history and the evolution of life. By integrating isotopes, fossils, and stratigraphy, I uncover how ecosystems respond to environmental change and why that matters today.
My work connects fundamental questions in Earth science to real-world problems, from past climate change to modern water security, and emphasizes the role of Earth science at the forefront of building a more just and sustainable future.
This site shares highlights of my research, teaching, and outreach. I hope you’ll explore, reach out, and join the conversation.
